Canadian Technical Report of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences No. 1998:

"Biological Sampling Manual for Salmonids- A Standardized Approach for the Pacific Region" is now on the Web. This manual contains sections on adult salmonid species identification complete with colour plates and schematic diagrams, bio-sampling requirements, mark recovery sampling, and most importantly data coding complete with data forms. This manual addresses the need for field personnel (contractors, DFO, AFS) and laboratory staff within the Region to adopt standardized methods when sampling salmonids. The manual can also be adopted for other species.
